Virginia Budget Adopted & 2010 Session Comes to Conclusion
On Sunday, March 14, the Virginia House of Delegates and Senate of Virginia came to closure on the Virginia state budget. The Virginia General Assembly adjourned Sine Die one day later than scheduled.
March 14, 2010The budget now goes to Governor Bob McDonnell for his review. He will have the ability to amend or veto portions of the budget, subject to certain limitations. The reconvened session of the General Assembly will review any such gubernatorial recommendations and act on them Wednesday, April 21 at the Reconvened Session of the 2010 Virginia General Assembly. The Governor has thirty days from March 14 to act by signing, amending or vetoing legislation, including the state budget.
