C. Ruffin Poole

Ruffin Poole served in the North Carolina Attorney General's Office for two years prior to becoming Counsel to Governor Mike Easley for the next eight years. He then became a transitional advisor to current North Carolina Governor Bev Perdue before joining McGuireWoods Consulting.
Ruffin assists clients with incentives negotiations on the state and local level. Additionally, he serves as an advisor on environmental, transportation, and state licensing issues and regulatory affairs.
In 2005, he was named a Marshall Memorial Fellow and traveled throughout Europe with other emerging leaders from the United States to explore societies, institutions, and people meeting with a range of policymakers and prominent members of the business, government, political, NGO, and media communities. In 2006, he participated in the American Council of Young Political Leaders program in China as one of eight U.S. participants chosen to engage with business and political leaders on economic, political and social issues facing both countries.
