Rob Hoppin is an executive vice president who heads the firm’s strategic communications group.
Rob brings to McGuire Woods a wealth of public relations experience at the highest levels of government and the private sector. He has managed a variety of high-profile public relations programs that reached across a variety of disciplines and issues, as well as geographies. His specialties include corporate positioning, reputation management, message development and elite executive communications services.
Prior to joining McGuire Woods, Rob worked at Edelman, the world’s largest independent public relations firm, where he was an executive vice president and global client relationship manager for the firm’s Wal-Mart account. He also managed a group of specialists that provided c-suite communications services to executives at some of the largest and most respected companies in the world.
Before joining Edelman, Rob worked for nearly four years as a speechwriter and communications advisor to Senate Majority Leader William H. Frist, M.D. He got his start in Virginia politics and government as a press aide to U.S. Senator John W. Warner on his 1996 re-election campaign and then as an assistant press secretary and speechwriter to Governor and Republican National Committee Chairman James S. Gilmore, III
